Maryland Solar Grant Program 2009-2010

The Maryland Solar Grant program has changed to mesh with the expanded Federal Investment Tax Credit. The maximum grant amount is still $10,000 per household from Fiscal Year 2009. What has changed is the amount of the grant per kilowatt (kW) of installed generating capacity. (One kilowatt equals 1,000 watts.)

Based on current information available from the Maryland Energy Administration, the incentive breaks down as follows:

  • First2,000 watts $1.25 per watt$2,500
  • watts 2,001 - 8,000$0.75 per watt$4,500
  • watts 8,000 –20,000$0.25 perwatt $3,000
